Tips for a good night sleep

Create a sleep ritual

Pay attention to what you eat and drink

Avoid large meals within a few hours of bedtime, avoid nicotine, caffeine and alcohol as the stimulating effects can take hours to wear off and can wreak havoc on your quality of sleep.

 Create a restful environment

Create a room that is conducive to a good night’s sleep.  For most people that means cool, dark and quiet.  Avoid technology before bedtime and consider putting away your phone and turning off the television around 8pm.  It is also good to do calming activities before bedtime, such as taking a bath or meditating or reading a book.
